Jennifer Gimenez: Adrienne Maloof’s RHoBH Exit Is a “Great New Start” — Exclusive

Jennifer Gimenez at the Opening Night of Jekyll & Hyde Premiere on February 12, 2013

We were pretty sad when Adrienne Maloof announced she would not be returning for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4. But one person who won’t be missing Adrienne is Brandi Glanville’s BFF, Jennifer Gimenez.

The model and Sober House star hopes to be featured more in the upcoming season of RHoBH, and she thinks Adrienne’s exit could give the show a fresh start free of “bulls**t drama,” as she put it.

We caught up with Jennifer at the Reality Wanted Awards on April 11 at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, California. She dished on what moments viewers didn’t get to see, and why she thinks should should join the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 cast!

Wetpaint Entertainment: What are the things we don’t see on camera?

Jennifer Gimenez: A lot. Well, me and Brandi got in a huge pillow fight. But Brandi and I, like, last night we were together. We’re always together. I’m going to be with her this weekend. And we bicker like a married couple. She’s my best friend.

Is it going to be weird without Adrienne?

No. I think it’s going to be a great new start. I think it’s going to be fresh and new and more excitement and not the same bulls**t drama coming from her.

Fair enough, very blunt.

Well, that’s me.

So who would you want to fill the other slots?

Everyone keeps asking me that. I already said I would love someone like Kim Kardashian. Why not? But I think it’s kind of a boring answer now, too. I don’t know. I just think someone juicy, someone who’s like not afraid to show who they really are.

And I think you might be one?

I hope so.

Jennifer Gimenez Reveals Why She Should Join RHoBH — Exclusive!

Jennifer Gimenez at the Opening of Kyle By Arlene Too on July 21, 2012

Jennifer Gimenez was Brandi Glanville’s rock during some difficult times on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 3 — namely during attacks from co-star Adrienne Maloof and rabble rouser Faye Resnick.

The model and Sober House star is no stranger to drama (she manages a house full of recovering addicts, after all), so would Jennifer consider joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 cast?

We caught up with Jennifer at the Reality Wanted Awards on April 11 at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, California. She spilled on why she’d love to join the RHoBH cast and whether Faye is as controversial in real life as she comes across on camera!

Wetpaint Entertainment: You’ve wrapped up this season. What are your thoughts in hindsight?

Jennifer Gimenez: I wish I would have been able to speak a little bit more direct to Faye Resnick, now that I look back. I’m not a fan.

In what regards?

I just feel like she was so unclassy on every angle in every way. She was talking about being classy, and yet, she was the epitome of a joke.

Is that clever editing?

No. It’s just who she is. I really believe the camera doesn’t lie. I mean, of course, editing does occur with how things are, but the audience is very smart. The audiences are smart. They can read, and nobody likes her.

Are you up for another season?

I’m hopeful. Hopefully. I’m hopeful that maybe I will be.

Now, that some people have left, do you want to be a full time?

Absolutely. It would be an honor and a privilege to be part of the cast.

Why?

Well, I think that I haven’t been able – I always say when I did Sober House and Rehab, for example, I always felt like I could bring more and I learned more. So I always feel like now, I can bring more. And me and Brandi are best friends. Me and Yolanda [Foster] are very good friends, and me and Lisa [Vanderpump] are good friends. I love some of the other women there too. Taylor [Armstrong’s] great. I’m no longer fearful of some things because it’s a different type of show than the other shows that I’ve been doing.

It should be exciting!

I’m really excited, and I love the girls. And I learned so much, and we actually stay friends after we were done filming.

Cory Monteith’s Rehab Too Public? Celeb Addiction Expert Weighs In — Exclusive

Cory Monteith and Jennifer Gimenez

Glee star Cory Monteith (Finn) surprised everyone with the March 31 announcement that he had checked into rehab to address substance issues. After all, here is a guy who had first gotten sober at 19, then went on to major Hollywood success by starring in one of the most iconic shows on television. To hear he had relapsed felt shocking.

Thankfully, Cory decided to seek treatment before things went too far, and he has the full support of the Glee cast and crew, especially girlfriend Lea Michele (Rachel). Since then, however, the question remains: Should Cory have announced it publicly? Did letting his fans know he had slipped glamorize his addiction in any way?

Addiction counselor and Rehab with Dr. Drew star Jennifer Gimenez doesn’t think so. “When it comes to addressing your issues publicly, I definitely think it’s to each their own,” Jennifer tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “That said, I think it’s extremely brave of him to open up about his addiction and recovery. Not everyone has to come out about it — but those that do can help others tremendously.”

And rather than making relapse look cool, she thinks Cory going public about rehab will help emphasize what a daily struggle it is for anyone — even celebrities — to stay sober.

“The pressure of keeping secrets can easily take someone down,” Jennifer explains. “It’s important not to hide them.”

“He already seems to be fighting the good fight,” she adds. “My biggest advice to him would be to not be so hard on himself. Relapse happens. It’s about the journey, not the destination, and I wish him only the best journey possible.”
